This article will tell you how to mark up an area with a highlight color in PDF with Foxit PDF Editor.
You can use the Area Highlight command to mark important area as a means of memory retention or for later reference.
To add an area highlight comment,
1. In the Comment tab, select Area Highlight. Then click and drag to make a shape you want to mark up.
2. (Optional) Change the appearance of drawing markup comments in the Comment Format context tab that appears when you choose a drawing markup tool.
3. (Optional) Double-click the markup to add a text message in the pop-up note for the markup.
It’s really helps me out, thanks for sharing.
So I can highlight text and I can place a highlight box that can’t be copied and pasted. IS that it? I really just want a tool that acts like a marker that I can use to draw on the PDF with my mouse; like if I was using the Pencil tool except it’s highlighting where I drag my mouse with a user-defined radius on the highlight thickness.. Please help me out here and tell me you have a tool like what I mentioned above..
Hi Jared. Yes, that’s the two options Foxit PDf Editor currently is offering. We’ll consider your feedback, thank you!
It would be much easier if we can resize the area highlight instead of deleting it to redraw it again
Thanks for your feedback, Mohamed.
Can i highlight the text directly, without the color options appearing every time?
Victor, you can submit aticket via Support Portal
Also, being able to copy and paste an area highlight would be helpful
Re: AREA HIGHLIGHTS
In former releases it was possible to use Area Highlighting permenently . Now I have to click again and again or use my shortcut every time. This is annoying. Is there a hidden option ? I am using Version: 11.2.1.53537

This is a Reminder to my former Comment
Hi Axel, to keep the “Area Highlight” feature selected, please go to the “Comment” tab. First, click on “Area Highlight”, and then, click on “Keep Tool Selected” on the right.
this is a great tip!
